Sheet music has changed significantly since the Tonara iPad app hit the scene. We have revolutionized the musician’s experience, ensuring that musicians never need to lift a finger – literally – to turn a page. So far, the Tonara store has offered an excellent selection of classical music, but we think it’s time to shake things up a bit. We are proud to announce a new partnership with the world’s largest music print publisher, Hal Leonard Corporation. As of today, Hal Leonard content, including your favorite songs by Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Elton John, and more, will be available at the Tonara store. We’ve selected a number of popular titles to start with and are continually adding to the catalogue of … Continued

Tonara introduces the Scribbles feature
The Tonara team is proud to introduce Scribbles – a brand new feature designed to make Tonara even more enjoyable. With Scribbles, you can add annotations and symbols to indicate fingerings, pedal marks and other useful signs. Our Scribbles feature is the result of several months of research and work. It was created by the musicians on our staff, and by our talented team of engineers! Because we know the ability to annotate music is a key element in making sheet music usable in everyday situations, we tailored this feature to the musicians’ needs. First and foremost, Scribbles are organized in layers. You can designate different layers with varying colors to different types of markings, and choose to show or hide each layer … Continued

Tonara at TechCrunch Disrupt

After days upon days of rehearsals, our CEO Yair Lavi and CMO Ron Regev went on stage with a string quartet, demonstrating how the Tonara iPad app can follow several musicians at the same time. The demo was concluded with a surprise appearance by Randi Zuckerberg, singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, with the iPad app perfectly following both her singing and the piano accompaniment… Here’s a video of this exciting moment, uploaded by alexiatsotsis: We’re now off the stage and on to our Startup Alley booth – … Continued
Tonara’s Big Day
Hello everyone! Today is a very special day for us: After two years of intensive research and development, we are launching Tonara iPad app to the public for the first time . For me, this is definitely one of the most exciting days of my life. When Tonara’s CTO and co-founder, Evgeni Begelfor and myself started developing the technology behind Tonara, we had a vision – that sheet music should be as free flowing and intuitive as music itself. We wanted to free musicians from fiddling with cumbersome sheets of paper, and from the need to turn pages during concerts. We wanted to build a tool that will help musicians learn, practice and perform. And we are happy to realize … Continued
