What is Tonara?
Tonara is an iPad app designed by musicians for musicians, to revolutionize the way digital sheet music is presented.
While digitized sheet music has been around for some time now, Tonara is innovating every aspect of that world. Tonara sets a new standard in the presentation of scores, not scanning them to PDFs but rather showing them in a beautiful, eBook-like resolution and clarity.
“The clever technology behind Tonara enables the app to ‘listen’ to you while you are playing.”
The clever technology behind Tonara enables the app to ‘listen’ to you while you are playing and, by detecting what notes are being played, accompany you with a scroll bar. The app then turns the pages automatically as you play! Every musician who reads sheet music knows the frustration of turning the pages during intensive playing – Tonara solves this very problem!
Tonara also provides a ‘scribbles’ feature, which allows the musicians to write on the sheet itself, in different layers (for lessons, orchestra practices, playing with friends etc).
The Tonara Store allows its users to purchase sheet music in various genres, ranging from classical to pop, and have just closed the deal with one of the biggest publishers in the world – Hal Leonard.
The company will soon confirm more deals with classical and pop sheet music publishers and, in so doing, create the best and most versatile sheet music shop available on iPad. With just one click, musicians can purchase a composition and instantly play, record themselves, and share performances with friends.
No more carrying around those heavy, dusty music books. No more searching for sheet music and waiting for them to arrive. Tonara offers a quick, lightweight, accurate, and affordable solution!
Tonara does to sheet music what Kindle did to books – setting an industry standard based on new methods of purchase and consumption, while bearing in mind the musician’s precise needs in the digital era.
